Community Based Resource Centres

Being an organization that supports rural development in pastoral regions, MPIDO is keen on maintaining its local roots and presence. In this regard MPIDO plans to establish community based resource centres in all districts where it operates.
MPIDO has already established a functional resource centre at Oltepesi (Kajiado District) and is currently raising funds to establish another two centres for Narok and Nakuru Districts.

Besides creating a venue for community trainings, the resource centres also serve as local points for information and data collection and dissemination. The MPIDO Resource Centre at Oltepesi

The community resource centre is also useful in making otherwise unavailable services accessible to the community. The paralegals project, which makes possible the access of basic legal services to the local community, is based at the resource centre.
